Is now a good time to invest?
If you don’t need to withdraw your money for the next year or so, it’s a great time to invest, as the markets took a beating last year.
Now is the time to review your investments to ensure that you’re properly invested to align with your goals & well diversified, so that you recover faster as the markets continue to recover. It’s also important to ensure that you’re taking on the appropriate level of risk that you’re comfortable with.
As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns or to review your investment portfolio together.

For the first time in 2022, we saw back to back months of positive growth in October & November.
The TSX is almost break even for the year now followed by the Dow Jones (small caps). The big tech companies still have the most ground to make up.
Now is the time to review your investments to ensure that you’re properly invested to align with your goals & well diversified, so that you recover faster as the markets continue to recover.

If you love numbers, charts & analysis as much as we do, then you may also appreciate the seasonal performance data for the major North American stock market indices.
2022 has been the worst performing year in the markets dating back to the 1970s. However, we know that markets always recover with time.
The key is having a well diversified portfolio to allow you to recover as quickly as possible. Ensure that you’re not too dependent on any one geography or industry.
The charts are a perfect example that typically not everything performs well at the same time. In October, small & medium companies outperformed the big tech giants, as can be seen with the Dow Jones outperforming the S&P & Nasdaq.

Every Canadian should have a critical illness (CI) policy & here are 4 reasons why.
A critical illness policy can pay out in 1 of 4 ways:
- if you are diagnosed with 1 of 20+ critical illnesses that are identified in your policy
- if you have the second event rider (optional) & are diagnosed with 1 of the top 3 conditions (heart attack, stroke or life threatening cancer, but not the same condition twice)
- if you pass away & a claim hasn’t been made & you have the return of premium at death option
- if you reach a certain age or number of years into your policy & have the return of premium upon cancellation option
Feel free to book some time with me to review your critical illness insurance options or your existing coverage to ensure that you’re properly protected: calendly.com/jamiemadigan/intro
